MIT Driverless — General Manager & Co-Captain

Profile

Cindy is a first-year MBA candidate at the MIT Sloan School of Management, where she is the co-captain and general manager of MIT Driverless, the MIT team competing in autonomous racing.

Before pursuing her MBA, Cindy held a multitude of impressive positions while gaining practical business experience, most recently as a Corporate Development and Strategy intern at TuSimple and as part of the Strategy and operations team at Arnie, a fin-tech startup that builds each user a unique portfolio with companies that align with their sustainable and ethical values.

She has also worked as an Equity Research Associate at MFS Investment Management.

Cindy Heredia's path to the MIT Driverless pit lane is a story of systems thinking applied to motion, planning, and multi-agent experience. As general manager and co-captain of the MIT team competing in autonomous racing, she balances engineering ambition with the organizational discipline required to ship a vehicle that drives itself. Before her MBA studies at MIT Sloan, she built practical business experience through corporate development roles and internships spanning the mobility and automotive landscape, including work with a startup in autonomous driving technology. Her background reflects the hybrid skill set that autonomous racing demands: an engineer's appreciation for core vehicle systems, controls, and perception, paired with the strategy, operations, and product thinking of a manager. Ask her how she gained fields as varied as multi-agent planning and human-robot interaction, and the answer points to a mentorship culture and a willingness to align her own development with sustainable, ethical values in automated mobility.
